     Joseph Benoît dit Livernois was born circa 1700 at Province de Québec, New France.1,2 He was the son of Laurent Benoît dit Livernois and Marie-Françoise Tétreau.1 Joseph, a voyageur, was out west from 2 April 1719 to 4 May 1726.1

Joseph Benoît dit Livernois married Marie-Josèphe Goyau, age 20 , daughter of Guillaume Goyau dit Lagarde and Madeleine Dagna, on 17 February 1721 at Longueuil, Québec, New France.
