  On 23 February 1706 in the home of her son-in-law, Xiste Lereau, Notary Étienne Jacob recorded the donation of Françoise Viger, the widow Deblois. Each child was to receive an equal share of her land, but which heir received which share was decided by lottery. Five tickets of equal size . . . the said tickets containing the name of each of the inheritors, all put in a hat, and after each drawing again shaken up.” Later on that day, contracts of sale recorded by the same notary showed that the patrimony would remain with the brothers Germain and Jean and finally it would be Jean owning all of the family land.
