Ernest BoudreauBRATTLEBORO, VT - Ernest "Ernie" Boudreau, 90, formerly of Brattleboro, VT passed away peacefully on January 17th, 2021 at the Vermont Veterans' Home in Bennington, VT. He was born in Bridgeport, CT on August 20, 1930 to the late Camille and Bibiane (Legere) Boudreau. He attended schools and resided in Athol, MA later moving to Brattleboro, VT in 1999.
Ernie enlisted and honorably served the United States Marines from 1952 - 1954 during the Korean War. He worked several jobs including Union Butterfield a/k/a Union Twist Drill in Athol, MA; Green Mountain Security at Vermont Yankee Nuclear Power in Vernon, VT; and spent 10 years working in Security for Pinkerton prior to retirement.
He was a man of great faith and enjoyed playing the guitar and piano as well as many other musical instruments, often writing his own songs. He was a cantor for the Catholic Masses in Athol, Orange and Petersham, Mass. He was active in several music and worship programs in churches, senior centers, and nursing homes throughout Vermont and Massachusetts. Ernie was a man of many interests. He enjoyed music, canoeing, dancing, puzzles, writing, billiards, and reading. He is kindly remembered by some as the "hug" doctor and was loved by many.
He was predeceased by his beloved wife Rosalie May (Clark) (Vitello) Boudreau; and his brother Leo Boudreau.
He is survived by his children Christine Collins of Wells, ME; Cynthia Clark and her husband Wayne of Hubbardston, MA; Mark Boudreau and his wife Jacquelyn of Athol, MA; Stepchildren Darlene Gamache and her husband Gary of Orange, MA; Lorraine Boudreau and her husband Dean of Athol, MA; Peter Vitello and his wife Tracy of Temple, NH; and Gina Vitello-Shepard and her husband Stewart of Brattleboro, VT; siblings Angie Chiasson and Francis Boudreau; and many grand and great grandchildren which he adored, and who adored him.
SERVICES: A graveside burial will be held at Mather Cemetery in Brattleboro, VT in the Spring.

Ernest Boudreau Takes Bride In Gardner Ceremony Miss Rachel L. Cormier, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur M. Cormier of 72 Ash street, Gardner, and Ernest Boudreau, son of Mr. and Mrs. Camille Boudreau of 40 Yale avenue, were married this morning at 9 in Holy Rosary Church, Gardner.
The bride was given in marriage by her father and wore a white floor length gown of permanent pleated chantilly lace and carried a white pearl prayerbook topped with removable corsage and, shower of stephanotis and satin entwined with ivy.
Miss honor Clair yellow for her Cormier sister. was maid She wore a chiffon gown and carried fuji chripanthemums with stardust and croton leaves.
Bridesmaids were Miss Jeanette LaFortune and Mrs. Lorraine Karpowicz. They wore lace gowns of pink and blue and carried half If crescent arrangements of yellow fuji chrpanthemums.
Lionel Boudreau served his brother as best man. Ushers were Francis Boudreau and Edward Duguay.
The bride's mother wore a dress of pink and gray lace. The groom's mother wore aqua taffeta.
Following the ceremony a reception was held in V.F.W. Hall with 125 guests attending. Luncheon was served. Mrs. Lucy St. Laurent was hostess.
The couple left on a wedding trip of unannounced destination. The bride wore a brown suit with beige accessories.
The bride was graduated from Marie- Academy in Biddeford Pool, Me., and was employed as a laboratory technician. The groom was graduated from Athol High School and is employed at the Union Twist Drill Company.
