| According to her obituary, she "started [teaching] at Allen School in 1897 after graduation from Central High and Perkins Normal School and special courses at Buchtel College and the University of Akron. After 10 years of seventh and eighth grade teaching at Allen she was named principal of Grace School in 1907. She was principal at Sieberling from 1928 until her retirement. Her philosophy of education was once expressed in a Beacon Journal interview: "Education, like everything else, goes bad if it stands still". She was a member of the Retired Schoolteachers Association and a member of the board of the Society for the Blind. She belonged to St. Paul's Episcopal Church." |
