  Jonathan Tyler, the son of Jonathan and Rebecca (Morse) Tyler. He was born on 6 July 1742 in Haverhill, Essex County, Massachusetts. On 15 May 1775, he enlisted in Captain Merrill's company, Colonel Phinney's regiment of Foot. He wrote his wife from Boston 25 June 1777 stating that he had entered hospital on 19 April 1777 with small pox and was released 18 June 1777. The estate of Jonathan Tyler was administered on 11 July 1783 in New Gloucester, Cumberland County, Maine, by Moses Hackett. Issue: 1. Mary Tyler (1767-1846) 2. Mercy Tyler (1773-____) 3.
