  Jonas Fairbanks, the son of Jonathan and Grace (Smith) Fairbanks. He was christened on 6 March 1624/25 in Warley, Halifax Parish, Yorkshire, England. He emigrated with his parents in 1633. In 1652, he was fined for violating the Statutes of 1651, by wearing great boots, while not being worth £200. He moved in 1657 to Lancaster, Worcester County, Massachusetts. He was a farmer and possibly a carpenter as well in October 1657. On 7 March 1659, he was one of the signers of the Covenant establishing the town of Lancaster. On 1 June 1668 in Dedham, Norfolk County, Massachusetts, Jonas Fairbanks was mentioned in the will of Jonathan Fairebanke. He was killed by Indians on Monday 10 February 1676 in Lancaster, Worcester County, Massachusetts. Issue: 1. Marie Fairbanks (1659-____) 2. Joshua Fairbanks (1661-1676) 3.
