The next year, Jonathan Woodman brought suit in the Court of the Admiralty in Boston to recover the amount due him for labor and materials used in the construction of the Salamander. Jonathan lost this suit and was fined £10, which was later remitted by the Massachusetts General Court.

I further testify, that William Morse of Newberry did owne that he did send for a doctor for his wife the same night and same time that I was troubled with that cat above mentioned, whcih was some grounds for suspicion." Elizabeth Morse later was reprieved and released.
