| Text | Sandra Lee Byrne NORTHAMPTON - Sandra Lee (Drillen) Byrne, 50, of Riverbank Road died* Oct. 27 at home. Born i in Staten Island, N.Y., she was the daughter of Woodrow Wilson Bernett Drillen and Rose (Lester) Drillen Balise. She graduated from Regan High School in Austin, Texas, and from the nursing program at Smith Vocational and Agricultural High School in Northampton. She received a degree in nursing from Greenfield Community College. She had lived for many years in Northampton. Mrs. Byrne worked as a registered nurse at SunBridge Care & Rehabilitation for Northampton. Earlier, she had worked for 19 years at the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Leeds. She enjoyed the company of her two dogs. She leaves her mother, Rose Balise of Amherst; a son, Dustin P. Olander, and a daughter, Catherine Marie Byrne, both of Northampton; a sister, Shari Belden of Amherst; and a grandson. The funeral will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Pease Funeral Home in Northampton. Burial will be in Spring Grove Cemetery in Florence.. | |
