| Text | The Parsonage of the Lutheran church was the scene of a pretty wedding ceremony on Saturday evening at 5:30 o'clock, the high contracting parties being Alvin B. Oakes, of Watsontown, Pa.. and Miss Ruth E. Shoemaker, of Bloomsburg, Pa. The ceremony was performed by Dr. M. Stanley Kemp. pastor of the church. The groom is a brother of John W. Oakes, of Allegheny street, and is a prosperous young farmer. The full ring ceremony was used, and after the ceremony a wedding fest was served at the home of the groom's brother, John W Oakes. After spending a short viewing the fine scenery of this section, the newlyweds departed for a wedding trip to eastern cities. They will take up their residence on the groom's farm near Watsontown. | |
